Is Zion Glover right?

Obligatory link: Morning Coffee: 23-year-old Goldman Sachs analyst goes rogue: "I'm broke." Citi's got an annual pledge too

Tldr: kid got given the usual analyst nonsense, midnight assignment and 9am deadlines. He had a minor crashout on LinkedIn about it and quit.

Obviously his experience isn’t new but… Was he right to do it? I’ve never seen anything that actually impacts how many hours juniors work, ever.

I guess he just couldn’t handle the workload. Someone should have told him it gets better – one day you get to assign midnight tasks and then get go to sleep until 8am.

Nothing unusual about this

Why is no one donating to his GoFundMe? Seems to be a notable lack of sympathy. Maybe people don’t think it’s valid

Seems odd :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

It’s a bit bizarre at how few people have come out in support of him, or donated to his gofundme, when everyone knows he’s right.

I suppose association with him is now a black mark for any young goldmanite. Rather than breaking the cycle it seems like he’s accidentally reinforced how much obvious suffering juniors are willing to endure.
