Looking for tips/opportunity in Singapore (AM/Research Roles)

Hey all, I’m a recent engineering graduate from NTU and have been working for about a year in treasury operations at a central bank. I’m keen to pivot into asset management, portfolio analysis, or equity research, though my job search hasn’t yielded much success so far.

I’d appreciate any advice on how I can strengthen my resume to improve my chances of landing interviews. I recently sat for the CFA Level I exam and have been self-learning financial modeling techniques, including DCF, LBO, comparables, and sensitivity analysis. I’m wondering if my lack of a formal finance degree might be causing my applications to be filtered out.

Some Asset Management roles typically like CFA’s which are valued based a plus on the resume. Having investment processes and principles within financial market is relatable along with intellect will assist you in finding your job in the industry, the positions are client facing which may require soft skills, financial analysis/modeling is quite beneficial to have, quantitative adds relevance for most people, if applicable internships can gain a faster method of entry into the company, seize the opportunity!
