What do you think is more important for quants these days?
- Technical Skills (PyTorch, etc)
- Modelling Skills (Linear Regression, etc)

Jokes aside, it’s been the case for a long time, so it’s not really fresh news.
Nowadays, we’re all going to be … (mind your language, eFC 
) because coding assistants write better code than the average quant.
Regarding the question, if you use PyTorch, etc without knowing the fundamentals of statistics and machine learning, what are you actually doing?

Really, I have seen this in other parts of job market as well. I would think that people who can operate in such roles, especially in the complex companies we have today are.. very few but I could be wrong.

You are correct, I see jobs that combine three roles and want to pay for the lowest role.
