Maybe I’m just being weird, but I am finding the SpaceX IPO hugely demotivating. Suddenly it’s not about making money by being on earth any more, but making trillions from setting up colonies on the moon and mars. I don’t really agree with any of this, but the mere fact that someone like Elon Musk has become unfeasibly rich pushing this agenda seems a downer. Are we entering an age where there will be more and more idiots like this around and doing a good within the confines of this planet won’t count for much?
Just stop paying attention. This exists in a parallel universe and most people have no awareness of SpaceX whatsoever. Get over it.
A company like SpaceX which doesn’t make any money with a net loss of 5B in 2025 and yet valued at 2T, alarm bells should be ringing.
I would feel better if the stock crashes
For one, I am glad that the most hot stock in the world right now is one that launches human beings to the final frontier in cutting edge machines
Would you rather it be Aramco or something? Walmart? Hell no. The future belongs to the bold
There are many things wrong about SpaceX IPO, but I don’t agree with your original premise; I think that establishing our presence beyond Earth should be a top priority for humanity. That does not make doing good here on our planet any less important though. Don’t let the bad things (ridiculous valuation and its implications; the fact that the US space program was largely privatized by a single individual; …) blind you to good things (they made some real progress in rocket technology; …), see both.

Yes I agree. It’s very inspiring
It’s good to aim for the stars, but majority of us don’t even know what’s going on in Antarctica or even about the UFO seen flying here on earth . Let alone Mars and beyond .
If you think practically, will Elon really make colonies beyond earth, with usage of precious resources from earth?. Every effort under compulsion , demands a sacrifice of life energy . The resources are not even enough here with so much Entropy . Can understand a trip or two by the Richies . But who would choose to live in uninhabitable planet like Mars? There has to be a strong economic reason for beyond earth colonization or survival reason . If spacex stocks does good, For few beginning decades , at max it would new space tech for earth in orbit.
My guess is Elon is betting on the threshold being crossed sooner or later ,in terms of liveability on Earth .
People will have the same delusion when OpenAI and Anthropic go public .
It’s like making a donkey move forward whilst sitting on it , by dangling a carrot before its eyes. I Suspect these Billionaires have their own race of who’s gonna be the richest within them-selves at the cost of normal people lives. The need of the Hour is sustainability agenda here for earth itself.
Do you know anything about this? I am struggling to find reliable literature
Have you considered the possibility that people have a higher tolerance for pain, discomfort, and risk than you?
yes, of- course reminds me of Farmers, daily wage Labours/workers who have those qualities ,which is very much appreciable . And I doubt they would ever benefit from this stock or ever sit in a rocket.
If you are talking about the affluent job holders in finances or power holders, then those are the ones having an unregulated nervous system with a huge Ego unfortunately . IDC
I mentioned it in context of UFO military surveillance footage released by NASA. You know those back and white videos which no one is clear about .
But such things have mentions in Ancient civilisation which is very interesting to study. Like Sumerian Civilisation or Indian Mythology. ResearchGate has interesting publications.
Do you have any strong opinions on Graham Hancock? He strikes me as very impressive and intelligent, a bit of a salesman but also very wise
Graham Hancock is a nutcase. I have nothing against some theories on civilisational age (Gobekli Tepe and all that) but the pseudo-Atlantis stuff is nuts.
I like the psychadelics stuff though. Something to it
Michael Tellinger puts some convincing points. Best part - he hates our very dear Banks. ![]()
I googled him and he seems crazy (in a good way). Like most mystics/prophets, there is probably a kernel of truth in there somewhere…
$SPCX trading below open now btw. Despite Grok 4.5 being quite decent
