Anyone hiring in Japan?

Might be a niche market in a mainly English site, but I thought I’d shoot my shot anyway.

Currently looking for a job in Japan (preferably Tokyo at a foreign firm where my English would be useful). 9 years in the financial industry with a CFA, and the highest possible Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) certificate. Yet still, I have not had much luck in finding an employer to take my career to the next level. I’m still continuing the search and have some applications ongoing, but if this can open some doors I figured I might try out as well.

Are you engaging any recruiters or headhunters?

Yes. I found out a little later on that applying directly without a middle man was not the play. As such, some applications are progressing. Asking here is simply just me trying to make sure I cover all my bases.

The FT had an interesting piece about hiring in the financial sector in Tokyo at the moment that offers a few leads. Can Tokyo tempt finance workers to manage its trillions?

What roles are you open to/aiming for?

Back or middle office, basically any support role that handles reporting or data or operations. Anything like consulting or sales will not be up my alley since despite my Japanese skills, I don’t have enough experience dealing with clients directly.
