I have heard that companies may recruit to look like they are busy but in fact, they either don’t really take anyone on or at a recession level hiring pace. Is this true and if so, is it only in the financial industry or all over?

This is what I am hearing from various people. Hiring has slowed down and interview process is taking lot longer unless you are a perfect match. Please be flexible and keep levelling up. Good luck.

well, it is not just banking…I don’t think just banking - all across the financial sector possibly. Wish I can find out more details but it is very hush hush of course. everyone pretends everything is dandy, just like estate agents hide that no one is viewing properties!!
