I see a lot of complaints about how hard it is to get a job… are people just larping or is it really that bad?
I’ve been applying to jobs for the past month and have already been invited to three interviews. I use AI to retool my CV for specific jobs and rewrite my cover letters if the job requires it.
My profile is far from the best one out there too. I feel like maybe most people overrate their own talents.
It’s bad. It’s so bad in fact that I am inclined to think that population numbers are simply lies, we do not have as many people as advertised.
I am unsure if we have more or less but we just don’t have what we’re told, unless half (or double) the people are simply hooked into some sort of Matrix VR thing 24/7 and simply do not really exist (or do exist doubly so)…
I would answer the question, but I don’t know how being under consideration can be classified in the context of the narrative of the current job market: it’s not a rejection, and it’s not an offer.
There are many applications that I’ve submitted that have been under consideration, some have been for years. I’m kind of happy about that.
Trying to gloat about getting interviews now? Unless you’ve got the contract signed and sealed, you’ve got nothing that anyone should be jealous about.
