I think I am ready to give up. I have applied to every bank you have ever thought of, including banks you’ve never thought of. I have applied to the Big Four out of desperation. I have applied to the small 500. I have applied to local firms. I’ve applied to global firms. Two interviews. Nada nada. Now what?
Don’t just apply to banks solely. Apply to all kinds of jobs that offer you an immediate contract. Banks nowadays don’t take fresh grads unless you offer valuable assets to them.
Move past the dream of “bank”, “banking”, “finance”, being a “finance guy”, it is complete cuckery. You are a HELOT!!!
Better join the armed forces (if you are in a NATO country), either climb the ladder and matter or clock out after five years and join a PMC. You will enjoy life so much more, perhaps even capture great fame and treasure for yourself…
sorry to hear that, can you give some elements of your CV and the kind of jobs you applied to? not sure it is useful to help you to reformulate if you already “burned” 2,000 firms, but who knows… and it may help other persons on the bubble to learn a little more about your experience.
I understand what you say.
The market is not good even for Seniors in FinTech.
Don’t give up.
I suggest to apply to another companies and start a career then you have enough time to apply for your interested companies without any presuure.
I’m really sorry you are having such a terrible time. Are you only submitting into a ATS-driven portal? Has anyone given you feedback on your CV’s ability to pass the ATS filter? Some juniors, meaning graduating final year of business school or looking secure a permanent role after their trainee programme, have been experiencing much better hit rates when they in-person network. Like, at alumni events or industry conferences that are open to juniors, like CFA has a couple of conferences coming up.
