Hi all, I’ve just completed my M.Sc. Physics program from a top tier University in Germany with a GPA 3.7/4. I have done my masters thesis in leading research institute in Germany. I have a publication in Astronomy. I have programming skills in Python, C++, Bash. I’ve experience with Linux Ubuntu and High Performance Computing along with my statistics and machine learning skills. I’m looking for a quant researcher position where I can solve complex problems with my expertise in statistical analysis. Please let me know if there is any possibility of working with my skills.
There’s always a place in quant finance for physics graduates.
Who are you applying to? If you’re struggling to hear back from banks it might be worth doing a PhD as they tend to be well respected on the sell side.
Machine learning and HPC are also great things to have experience in but, if you’ve only got it in the context of your education, it might be good to work on personal projects, open source stuff or maybe some unpaid work to prove your worth outside of academia
I’m also open to do some internships even it’s unpaid to gain experiences… can anyone suggest me some?
Hi, if your resume highlights strong relevant projects and keywords, the recruiters will reach you. not sure about DE , but looks like there are lot of Quant roles in Asia like in SG , HK for fresh graduates. maybe join quant groups in Linkedin for resume tips and base project building to showcase in resume ? Good luck .
