I recently came across a few twitter posts about people on subreddits such as r/MyBoyfriendIsAI. It gave me a brilliant idea.
Bankers work extremely long hours, and they have continuous access to barely-functioning internal LLMs that barely do anything from a value-added perspective. These LLMs are improving very slowly, but are generally frustrating for users.
Instead of pushing to build LLMs that can make powerpoint presentations or build models, why don’t banks build their LLMs to emotionally support their analysts?
The impact would be massive and significant. The LLMs, trained to be sycophantic to a degree not seen since early GPT4o rollout, would empower analysts to work harder, deliver shareholder value more efficiently, prioritise stoicism, and push forward in their careers uber alles. It could also work, of course, as a monitoring system of employee morale.
Clearly a brilliant idea. If you cannot fully automate the work of an analyst then render the analyst as close to an automaton as possible using AI emotional guile
