The age of ai

  • Which jobs will die and which will thrive?

Will die: Anything process-driven

  • 90% of tech
  • 95% of operations
  • 80% of law
  • 60% of accounting

Will thrive: anything requiring creativity

  • High-end arts
  • High-end tech, law, accounting
  • Physical stuff: most construction, landscaping etc. jobs

Basically, AI will enrich the upper classes, destroy the middle class, and probably won’t impact the working class at all

I would put the percentage figures higher.

You did not consider one important issue.
If robotic technology improve a little and the price of robots decrease then all physical works are at risk.
I think physical works can be replaced by robots and AI like the other jobs.

What a bricklayer or an electrician does with their hands is 100000x more difficult to reproduce and/or automate robotically than what an accountant does what excel. What ANYONE does on Excel

What about jobs in Financial Services?

90% of any given work any given FS professional did 4 years ago will not exist in another 4 years

I think in financial services job profiles will change a lot, but I find it hard to believe that our regulators are just letting the companies run only on AI, they will demand some humans in the loop also in Ops, Compliance, Regulatory affairs, audit etc. And I would also think the front office will still have some humans employed as well, or what is your opinion?

The financial service industry will incorporate AI in workloads, add to productivity while reducing repetitive task, Humans have to be included for review of processes, AI is not going to be a replacement for critical thinking, attention to detail, communications that are required to be worked on by employees, In cybersecurity I noticed we’re observing how AI has been attempting to mimic actions even mislead us when an incident occurs financial crime, fraud detection and preventions, down to drafting and completing expense reports we will always need humans to perform task check for accuracy and correctness client facing still requires us embrace AI for the technology useful purposes.
