The subtle brag of 'LinkedIn Helped Me Get This Job'

I used to find it weird that people would add that little badge on LinkedIn that says LI helped them get a job, but I think I understand why now.

The job market is obviously terrible, and it feels like the only route in to the best roles is via a reference. If you have that badge, the implication seems to be you just stumbled across the job, cold applied and got it anyway… because you’re just that good, or whatever.

Definitely not seething because someone I know got a really good job I was also interested in.

I do not brag “subtly”, I simply announce my superiority on LinkedIn and wait for my enemies to admit their faults via DM to me.

LinkedIn can and is a vital source of information if utilized a few colleagues I know have gotten jobs along with bragging about their badges and certificates in relatable topics that enhance our skill set’s yes brag!

Personally I would never write this, in the same way that I would never say I am looking for work. LinkedIn is a directory. Using it as anything more than that reeks of desperation
