I was made redundant in July 2025. I must have applied for over 500 jobs in that time. I’m in contact with at least 10 recruiters, who have not found any job opportunities for me. I was a successful senior operations/finance/commercial manager in the IT space. What am I doing wrong or am I a victim of ageism?
Sorry to hear that, friend. Things are a nightmare and you are in a bad bed to be in.
I would really, strongly recommend to rely on your network as much as possible - referrals are gold dust these days. Applying online has worse odds than ever.
Try to talk to recruiters and friends who can refer you to jobs. Only way to get things done these days (except for getting poached ofc).
