How do I say that I've attended an insight day on my LinkedIn without looking like an idiot?

I’ve been invited to an insight day at a major firm which I hope will make me look more impressive, but I’m worried about how to show it to people. I see people put it in their work experience but to me that looks disingenuous and I’m worried people will think less of me for it.

The way I see it the other options are:

  • I post about attending the session, which will prove that I’ve been. It might be easier to miss it when glancing at my profile though.
  • I just put it on my CV when applying to jobs and leave it off my LinkedIn entirely.

Is there any other way I can show it off that I’ve not thought of?

I’m afraid that this is not a possibility

Attending an insight day is not an achievement and it should not be registered as such. If I were you I would add it to the descriptor text below your profile. Eg. “I am a student interested in pursuing a career in XZZ [specific area of finance ideal here]. I have attended insight days at XYZ and am applying for internships.”

You should add into your “experience” section every sponsor (major and minor) of the insight day, if it is not specific to a single employer
